Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR)
- NCAI Resolution #BIS-02-056 May 26, 2005, the AITC Executive Council approved the reconfirmation of its position against the development of ANWR in 2002
- July 29, 2005, AITC presented an opposition paper against development of ANWR at the Meeting of the Minds Conference in Anchorage, Alaska. The position paper was forwarded electronically to all federally recognized Alaska Native tribes
- November 8, 2005, AITC submitted a letter to the Gwich'in Steering Committee in opposition to use the budget process to circumvent established congressional procedures
- December 19, 2005, at the request of the Gwich'in Steering Committee, AITC submitted a letter to the Members of Congress in opposition of inclusion of the ANWR drilling issue in the Defense Appropriations bill
