Alaska Inter-Tribal Council : Advocating for Alaska Tribal Governments

WHEREAS; The Alaska Inter-Tribal Council (AI-TC) a statewide Native organization with a membership of 158 villages/tribes; and

WHEREAS; THE Unangan (Aleut) villages/tribes are members of the Alaska Inter-Tribal Council; and

WHEREAS; the AI-TC is an advocacy group for all the member villages/tribes in Alaska by virtue of the passage of Resolution 95-028

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; that the Alaska Inter-Tribal Council go on record in support of the Aleut peoples (Unangan) in requesting the Department of Defense for the return of the Island of Adak to the Unangan villages/tribe.
